2009 Region IV Fair

Dear Parents and Teachers:

The Louisiana Region IV Science Fair at Louisiana State University at Alexandria is scheduled for March 14, 2009.   Please read the information below and click on the links at the left for a registration form, information on other required forms, and a map of campus.  LSUA is offering time for early set-up of projects on Friday, March 13,  between 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.   Regular set up is Saturday, March 14 between 7:00 A.m. – 8:00 A.m.   All projects in both the junior and senior divisions will be set up in gym of the Fitness Center.  

There will be no seating available in the gymnasium.  Parents and teachers will be free to wait on the front lawn of the Fitness Center, but will not be able to view the judging process.  No food or drinks will be allowed in the gymnasium.  All students and parents are expected to comply with this policy.

After judging is completed, there will be time for public viewing of all projects.  Lunch will be available on the lawn in front of the Fitness Center from 11:30 A.m. until 1:00 p.m.  In the event of inclement weather, lunch will be announced.  Students may begin removing their projects when all judging is completed.  The awards ceremony will be held in the auditorium of Coughlin Hall beginning at approximately 2:30 p.m. 

A schedule of events for the fair is given below.

  Friday, March 13  

   
  5:00 p.m. -   7:30 p.m.  --  Early set-up (optional)  
   

Saturday , March 14

   
  7:00 A.m. -  8:00 A.m. --  Project setup and inspection of projects in the gymnasium
  8:00 A.m. -  9:00 A.m. --  Continuation and completion of project inspections
  9:00 A.m. -12:00 p.m. --  Individual and Special Awards Judging - all students at projects

12:00 p.m. -  1:30 p.m. --  Lunch and public viewing of projects
  1:30  p.m. - 2:15 p.m. --  Removal of projects
  2:30  p.m. - 4:00 p.m. --  Awards Ceremony
