Welcome to the website for the 2012 Louisiana Region IV Science and Engineering Fair. This year’s fair will be held in the Fitness Center Building at LSU-Alexandria on Saturday, February 25, 2012.  (For directions, click here.)   The Director of the 2012 Region IV Science Fair is Sandra Purifoy, who is a faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences.  She can be reached by email at spurifoy@lsua.edu.

       The Louisiana Region IV Science and Engineering Fair is dedicated to the promotion of science exploration and experimentation in students attending middle school and high school.  The  Region IV Science Fair is affiliated with the Louisiana Science and Engineering Fair (LSU-Baton Rouge) and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).   Winners from the regional fair progress on to state and international competition.  Region IV serves public, private and home schools in a 9-parish area: Rapides, Avoyelles, Grant,  LaSalle, Natchitoches, Sabine, Vernon, Catahoula, and Concordia.  Each of these parishes has a science fair committee.  To see the committee members for your parish and to find out which schools, so far, are participating on the Region IV Science Fair, click on the name of your parish, listed above.   If you are an adult and would like to be on a parish committee or if you are a student and would like to participate in this year's regional fair, please email Sandra Purifoy at spurifoy@lsua.edu.

       Sponsors are needed for the fair; click on the sponsor link for details. Funds generated through the support of sponsors and through registration fees and t-shirt sales are used to purchase such items as mail-outs, judging materials, and awards for students.  These funds also pay for the winner of the "Best of Senior Division" (and a parent) to attend the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.  If you would like to be a sponsor or know someone who would, please contact Sandra Purifoy at spurifoy@lsua.edu.
