Welcome to the Region IV 2018 Science & Engineering Fair

This year’s fair will be held in the Evacuation Center adjacent to the campus of LSU of Alexandria on Saturday, February 24, 2018(For directions click here.) The Director of the Region IV Science Fair is Sandra Purifoy, who is a faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences. She can be reached by email at

The Louisiana Region IV Science and Engineering Fair is dedicated to the promotion of science exploration and experimentation in students attending middle school and high school. The Region IV Science Fair is affiliated with the Louisiana Science and Engineering Fair (LSU-Baton Rouge) and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Winners from the regional fair progress on to state and international competition.

Region IV serves public, private and home schools in a 9-parish area: Rapides, Avoyelles, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Sabine, Vernon, Catahoula,  and Concordia

Sponsors and Volunteers are needed!

Sponsors are needed for the fair; click on the sponsor link for details. Funds generated through the support of sponsors and through registration fees and t-shirt sales are used to purchase such items as mail-outs, judging materials, and awards for students. These funds also pay for the winner of the "Best of Senior Division" (and a parent) to attend the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. If you would like to be a sponsor or know someone who would, please contact Nate Sammons at

Volunteers are needed for the fair; click on the volunteer link for details.  Volunteers are needed for preparations, soliciting sponsors, setting up, keeping paperwork in order, judging, etc.  We can use your help.  If you would like to volunteer or you know someone who would, please contact Nate Sammons or Jerry Walls at or
